weekend in Paris" Screening 'Made In Japan' at Le Cube (27.11.03) A programme of videos focusing on Japanese artists and, in particular, the VJ scene in Tokyo - which is one of the most progressive in the world. The programme includes Flash animation by Devil Robots, music videos by Satoshi Tomioka, Power Graphixx, Imai Toonz and Delaware, short films by SSSR and other recorded work and animation by designers-VJs Glamoove, TomoGrapher, Ukawa Naohiro, Kloma, SanFrandisco and UNU. | Crossover A series of mixed-media events held on the cutting edge Paris boat venue Batofar in 1999 and 2000, mixing projections, installations, live music, DJs and VJs. The event brought over a number of British artists to Paris for the first time. Over two years, artists who performed include Gus Gus DJs; halal grooves for the new millenium from U-Cef; a Rephlex party with the first live performance in France by Cylob and Ovuca; the first showcase in France of the Leaf label including a live AV performance by the Sons of Silence and the London based Sprawl Imprint; live performance from French artists Scratch Massive, Mr Neveux (Microbe Records), Olaf Hund (Musiques Hybrides) and DJ Ottoman. VJs who performed included Addictive TV, Glimpse, V-CR and VJ Tekyes. |

Design Event presents a specially curated screening programme from film & new media curators Cinefeel. An open call for submissions brought in hundreds of entries from international designers and filmmakers, and the programme includes cutting edge animations, digital shorts, architectural visualizations and music videos which relate to the festival theme "How do we want to live?"
Cinefeel are pleased to announce that the winner of the DE07 Film Programme is “Gardens by the Bay” by Squint/Opera, a London based production company specialising in films about architecture. Originally commissioned by Grant Associates, “Gardens by the Bay” is a magical pinboard of design ideas for a landscape architecture competition in Singapore.
Other films in the programme include Zhenchen Liu’s “Under Construction” which exposes the human implications of Shanghai’s planning policy and its property developers heavy-handed operations; EB Hu & Qian T’s “Palingenesia” charts the impact man has on his environment as he evolves from the pastoral through to the industrial; and Robb Ellender’s “Illusion Dwellers” shares views from the homeless community about a world that marginalises them once they end up on the streets.
There’s also films dealing with more personal thoughts of how individuals choose to live, such as using objects as vehicles for dissident behaviour in Noam Toran’s “Desire Management”; the fear of getting old in Martin Schmidt’s “George Grows”; and how to overcome obsessive-compulsive behaviours in Martin Pickles’ “Like Me Only Better”.

For over ten years now, Cinefeel have programmed for festivals, events and arts venues, including the Pompidou Centre in Paris and both the National Film Theatre and the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London to MIDEM's Electronic Village and curating for Greenpeace at the Glastonbury Festival.
